Needle Felting Workshops
Jo has been running needle felting workshops at The Hive in Shepton Mallet for around 7 years. She has taught loads of people this addictive and versatile craft and they keep coming back for more!
Jo also offers private workshops and so far has done so for different WI groups in Somerset, an arts group in Doulting and several private 'family and friends' workshops. Do get in touch if you would like to book her for your own event.
The Salt Water Collection: Part 1
Jo is writing an illustrated three part miniature book collection of flash fiction and poetry. Part One is available to buy now along with its co-ordinated range of greeting cards, posters, earrings and fabrics.
The illustrations are collages made from a large collections of cards, papers, embellishments and fabrics Jo has acquired over the years. Each collage takes several weeks to complete. Each piece is cut free hand. The originals are currently available to view at Create@#8.
Creative Workshops
Jo loves facilitating creative workshops for individuals and groups. With a background in community empowerment and support work, Jo is perfect for providing a safe, fun and relaxing space in which to explore creativity.
Jo has worked with individuals with learning disabilities and memory loss on various creative projects and has also helped co-ordinate and facilitate inter-generational creative workshops between schools and groups for older people.
Writing Group
Having run writing groups and workshops in Somerset for over a decade, Jo is excited to begin a new group at Create@#8 in Shepton Mallet from January 2023.
Jo has a degree in Creative Writing (2012) and is currently working on a trilogy for young teens. She is an avid writer of poetry and often attends Spoken Word events. She particularly enjoys flash fiction and writing for young children but her main passion is helping others work on their own projects by offering supportive groups.
Music
Jo writes her own songs which she has been performing for around 15 years now, sometimes as a solo artist but usually with her musical partner, Al Cosnett under the name, Desmond's Dawn and occasionally in a band set up with Lela Mai on fiddle, Ross Whitmore on drums, keys and percussion and Paul Cannon on sax.
